Over the past two weeks, the number of new single-day cases in the nation′s capital has surged in response to a strong increase in H3N2 influenza cases nationwide. Medical professionals have suggested that the novel COVID XBB.1.16 variety may be the cause of Delhis slow rise in COVID cases. On Tuesday, mock drills were held at hospitals in Delhi to test their readiness to deal with the disease amid a surge in cases in the national capital.
